We questions whether big consulting firms, and the standard travel model (to get expertise to your location from a broad physical area) are as applicable today.  Considering the increased easy in communicating and collaborating virtually, and the commoditization (new word ;-) )of standard (non-cutting edge) consulting skill sets, why carry the overhead when you could source locally through contracting.  Think of how they bring together large construction crews as a similar model.  Interesting outlook. . .</description>
